Ejercicios: present simple y present continuous, ¡repásalos!
En ocasiones, algunos aspectos de la gramática inglesa que creíamos tener dominados nos la pueden jugar y hacernos cometer errores inesperados; por ejemplo, podemos caer con alguna de las trampas del presente simple. Para que esto no ocurra, es muy importante tener nuestros conocimientos gramaticales al día y practicar de vez en cuando para que no se nos «oxiden».
Por eso, hoy te proponemos el repaso de dos de los tiempos básicos del inglés: el present simple y el present continuous. Además de ver un resumen de las reglas fundamentales, vamos a ponerlas en práctica con ejercicios de present simple y present continuous para repasar de manera activa. Let’s go!
Las normas del present simple y el present continuous
Para empezar, vamos a recordar cuál es el tiempo verbal que debemos usar en cada caso. A continuación te explicamos algunos trucos para diferenciar el presente simple y presente continuo:
Empleamos el presente simple en inglés para…
- Hablar de cosas que suceden de manera habitual. En este caso, suele ir acompañado de adverbios de frecuencia. I drink milk every day. He goes to the gym often. I walk in the park on Sundays.
- Referirnos a afirmaciones generales o a hechos científicos. I like chocolate. Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius. Adults don’t know everything.
- Para eventos que van a ocurrir con seguridad en un futuro próximo. The train arrives at 6:12. Does the conference start next Monday?
- Para dar instrucciones, esto es, en modo imperativo. Open the door. Please finish your homework.
Por otro lado, el presente continuo en inglés sirve para…
- Describir acciones que están sucediendo al mismo tiempo que hablamos. He is having dinner right now. Is it raining?
- Hablar de cosas que están ocurriendo en la actualidad, aunque no sea en este mismo momento. She is currently looking for a flat. Are you studying a lot these days?
- Hablar de eventos ya definidos que ocurrirán en un futuro próximo. I’m not going to Samantha’s party next weekend. Are you working next week
Ejercicios: present simple y continuous
Ahora, vamos a practicar un poco con estos ejercicios. Solo tienes que completar las frases propuestas con la forma adecuada de presente simple o continuo del verbo entre paréntesis. Encontrarás las soluciones más abajo pero recuerda, ¡no vale hacer trampas!
